The Elegant Snail - Handcrafted Elegance from the Heart of Wiltshire
The Elegant Snail is the web home of craftsman jeweller Sue. She works from her purpose built studio in the heart of Wiltshire.
Sue is an apprentice served jeweller who trained in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and at Sir John Cass in London in the mid 1980s. She now concentrates all of her time on her art, producing some magnificent pieces that you would be proud to wear at the most formal of occasions. Fun and Funky: Every day jewellery that is bright and fun 
Gear for guys : Here we have jewellery for the guys. We have cufflinks (if you have a specific design in mind, contact us!), plain silver bracelets as well as heavy woven silver
Snail Maille: Maille is made from joining many individual rings of various materials to make a chain or other item. Sue makes it in various materials from solid silver to anodised aluminium. These pieces are strikingly different.

Because Sue incorporates lampwork produced by some of the country's finest artisans, the majority of Sue's jewellery are one-offs. You can see that the components are unique, and could not be replicated. If there is a piece that you particularly like, however, please contact Sue, as there may be something that she can do.
All of the sterling and fine silver that Sue sells carrys her personal hallmark - a sign that you are getting a valuable piece of art crafted from purest silver.
As well as producing fine formal jewellery, Sue does, from time to time, produce fun pieces for every day wear. Please feel free to browse the shop, found under the "Our Jewellery" link at the top of the page.

Sue enjoys working in silver and pearls (amongst many other materials) so if you are looking for something special for your wedding day, please email her. It will give you something unique to remember the day by, as well as something you will want to pass on to your children.
If you are looking for a piece of jewellery for a special occasion or as a gift, if you can't find a piece which fits or suits you, if you want to make something and are looking for the right findings or components, then please contact Sue and, hopefully, she can use her skill to provide just what you are looking for.
Sue does take on commissions. If you have a special design in mind, something for that special occasion, birthday or anniversary, if you want something to match something you already have - such as a bracelet or earrings to match that very special necklace, then please contact Sue. Even if she can't make or source the item for you, she may be able to find someone who can.
